Social Media Messaging and Impact on Youth Behavior - A Research Design Proposal
This research design proposal considers whether or not social media platforms are a viable option for changing youth knowledge, attitudes and behaviors regarding vaping. It synthesizes the research regarding social media messaging and public health impacts, and suggests a quantitative data collection and analysis among youth statewide who have been exposed to health messaging through the Incorruptible Us youth media campaign.
A Tale of Two Settlements: Remediating the Opioid Crisis, Not Repeating Tobacco Failures
Beginning in 2023, communities across the country began receiving funding as a result of litigation with several distributors of opioid pain relievers. Through the lens of the abortive Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement, this research employs an inductive content analysis with a constrained matrix to examine the publicly available opioid abatement reports for 2023 and 2024 from counties and towns in New Jersey that are currently receiving disbursements from the National Opioid Settlement to examine how those funds are being spent.
